About

My name is Lisa Waddington, owner of Beehive Preschool, LLC. My husband, Trent Hatfield, and I are originally from Miami, FL and moved out west to Coos Bay, Oregon in 1998 for the wonderful outdoor opportunities that beautiful Oregon has to offer--- mountains, rivers, ocean, trees, hiking trails, sand dunes and more. I am an occupational therapist, Trent is a high school teacher. We both worked while raising our children and know the importance of finding quality environments for kids to grow and thrive.

Meet the Waddington-Hatfield family doing what we do best - goofing around
Our two children were lucky enough to attend Cindy's 8th Street daycare as littles and then went on to Emmanuel Episcopal Preschool, 3 days/week. Then onward and upward through the Coos Bay School District- K-12th. Our daughter, Taylor, just graduated from University of Oregon with a degree in English and Education and has her first "adulting" job as a high school English teacher in Estacada, OR. Our son, Jack, is a junior mechanical engineering student at University of Arizona and fabrication lead welder on the Formula U of A team.
I have wanted for many years to transition to working with a younger people, as most of my 30 years as an OT have been working with the adult population in rehabilitation including home health, skilled care, and inpatient rehab.
Vision Statement: My vision is to create and foster an environment where PLAY is everything. PLAY is purpose. PLAY is discovery. PLAY is community. PLAY is the avenue in which kids develop the skills they need to grow and thrive as they enter their school aged years.
Mission Statement: A childhood based in PLAY is a childhood rich in hands-on activity where the imagination rules the landscape and the body and brain gain the fine motor, gross motor, cognitive/social, and emotional skills required for learning and development.
We absolutely love playing and being outside in this beautiful country - these are some pics from 2025
